Weekend events
From version 3.3
One airport and one twist, every weekend, from version 3.3.
The first weekend is Saturday 31 October 2026. Each weekend runs from Saturday 00:00 to Monday 00:00 on your phone's clock.
Every weekend, Short Final has one event. It is the same for every player whose phone says it is that weekend, and it is free, like the daily challenge.
When
A weekend runs from Saturday 00:00 to Monday 00:00 on your phone's clock. The first weekend is Saturday 31 October 2026.
Which airport
Each weekend has one of the 50 busiest airports in the world, as the game lists them (ACI World, 2025 results). The airport changes every week, and all 50 take a turn in 50 weeks.
Which twist
The twist changes each week, in turn:
- Storm weekend: thunderstorms in every game.
- Fog weekend: fog in every game. Fog banks hide planes behind radar blips.
- Rush hour weekend: arrivals come in big waves.
- Windy weekend: strong gusts push the planes about in every game.
Free, with its own board
Playing the weekend event does not use your free games. It has its own leaderboard, which you switch to from Today in the Daily challenge tab.
From version 3.3
Weekend events are part of the game from version 3.3. The same weekend, the same airport and the same twist apply to every player, so you can compare results on the board.
